We have all fought the battle of trying to start the pillow ball retainers in the plastic hubs. One wrong turn and it cross threads. As a result of the design of the Arrma 8S hubs , it is especially difficult with the support ribs on the hubs.
IT IS HIGHLY ADVISED THAT YOU PURCHASE THE PILLOW BALL INSERTION TOOL PN. 3327 FOR USE WITH THIS PRODUCT.
HOW TO INSTRUCTIONS:
PLACE THE WHITE DELRIN INSERT INTO THE PILLOW BALL RETAINER AND PLACE THE PILLAR BALL NUT ON THE WRENCH
PUT THE PILLOW BALL RETAINER IN THE HUB.
ROTATE THE WRENCH COUNTER CLOCK WISE UNTIL YOU FEEL THE THE PILLOW BALL SLIDE PAST THE FIRST THREAD IN THE HUB.
IT WILL ACTUALLY GO FURTHER INTO THE HUB.
THEN TURN THE WRENCH CLOCK WISE SLOWLY AND SCREW THE PILLOW BALL NUT IN UNTIL YOU FEEL RESISTANCE.
THEN USE THE SUPPLIED (with the kit) 5MM OR 8MM HEX WRENCH TO TIGHTEN THE REST OF THE WAY.
YOU WILL FEEL THE PILLOW BALL RETAINER START TO TIGHTEN UP WITH THE WRENCH AS IT GETS CLOSE TO THE PILLAR BALL
ONCE THE PLASTIC INSERT TOUCHES THE PILLOW BALL, BACK OFF APPROXIMATELY 1/8 TO 3/8 OF A TURN.
THE PILLOW BALL SHOULD FLOAT FREE WITH NO BINDING.
